It is 3nd of May, I guess we have the last April rains.
Current conditions, cold and rain. Some nice views of Station 1 in the rain.
It is typical the last years to have a load of rain in April (till first days of May) and then weather rapidly change to heat. The question is, will we have the pattern that last days of May are summer heat, or last year’s that May was warn, June was summer warm, but not heat, and then 3 months of terrific heat. July and August definitely, will be heat waves, The key point is that even at night there is no chill. This is an observation and the cause of misery the last couple of years. Notice the blue line in the char bellow, it is average temp. Almost every day over 30C. Night temperatures are high. Min values (the orange line) might hit temps bellow 30, but still over 25C and for short periods before sunrise. No night cooling of the buildings. Extreme discomfort.
This chart is from Station 1 data. Might have some days malfunctioned (like those 3 days that min=max=avg), but still that’s the picture.
Look at this plateau in July, even max temp was dropping, min was holding close to 30C.
Countdown started. The question is, how extreme the weather will be this summer.
